Mr. Jabedul Alam has joined Standard Islami Bank PLC as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Transformation Officer, bringing with him more than 26 years of extensive experience in the banking and financial services industry.
A seasoned banking professional, Mr. Alam began his career with HSBC Bank in 2000. Over the course of his career, he has served in various important roles at leading financial institutions, including BRAC Bank and Eastern Bank PLC (EBL), gaining extensive experience across multiple areas of banking operations and business development.
Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Alam has held senior leadership positions and played a significant role in driving business growth, strengthening corporate banking operations and developing transaction banking businesses. His experience also includes a strong focus on organizational transformation, strategic planning and business development.
With more than two and a half decades of experience in the banking sector, Mr. Alam has developed expertise in identifying business opportunities, building strategic relationships and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional performance. His professional background spans both conventional banking operations and strategic transformation, positioning him to contribute to the evolving business priorities of Standard Islami Bank.
Mr. Alam holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Chittagong. His academic background, combined with extensive practical experience in banking and senior management, has enabled him to develop a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing financial institutions in a rapidly changing business environment.
In his new role as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Transformation Officer, Mr. Alam is expected to contribute significantly to Standard Islami Bank’s transformation initiatives and broader business strategy. His responsibilities are likely to involve supporting the bank’s efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, accelerate business development and enhance its competitive position in the banking industry.
