Rubaba Dowla Matin Delivers Guest Lecture at National Defence College on Private Sector’s Role in National Resilience
Rubaba Dowla Matin delivered a guest lecture at the National Defense College (NDC), Bangladesh, highlighting the critical role of the private sector as a strategic partner in strengthening national resilience and economic security.
Her lecture, titled “The Private Sector as a Strategic Partner in National Resilience and Economic Security,” brought together more than 100 senior officers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces, senior civil servants, and international course participants. The session featured an engaging exchange of ideas on how stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors can enhance a nation’s ability to withstand economic and strategic challenges.
During her presentation, Rubaba emphasized that in today’s interconnected world, national security extends beyond military preparedness. A resilient economy, a dynamic private sector, sustainable investment, innovation, and strong public-private partnerships are equally vital to ensuring long-term national stability and prosperity.
She noted that meaningful collaboration between government institutions, businesses, and other stakeholders is essential to building economic resilience, fostering sustainable growth, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening a country’s capacity to respond to emerging global risks.
Following the lecture, the National Defence College presented Rubaba Doula Matin with the prestigious NDC crest in recognition of her contribution. Describing the honor as deeply meaningful, she said receiving the crest was a privilege she would always cherish.
Reflecting on the occasion, Rubaba shared that every visit to Bangladesh’s military institutions feels like “coming home,” as she proudly considers herself part of the Army fraternity. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the Commandant, faculty members, and course participants for their warm hospitality, thoughtful discussions, and the opportunity to engage with such a distinguished audience.
She added that forums like those organized by the National Defence College play an important role in fostering dialogue between national institutions and the private sector, helping shape innovative ideas and collaborative approaches to strengthening Bangladesh’s economic security and long-term resilience.
