Dhaka: US-Bangla Airlines has secured fourth place in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2026 ranking of the best regional airlines in India and South Asia, improving from fifth position after holding that spot for the previous two consecutive years.
According to the 2026 rankings, Maldivian emerged as the top regional airline in the region, followed by Nepal Airlines in second place and Alliance Air of India in third. Pakistan’s SereneAir rounded out the top five in fifth position.
The latest result marks a notable improvement for Bangladesh’s largest private carrier. In the 2025 edition, US-Bangla ranked fifth behind Air India Express, Maldivian, Alliance Air and Star Air. It also finished fifth in the 2024 rankings.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on an annual global passenger satisfaction survey, widely regarded as one of the aviation industry’s most influential benchmarks. The 2026 survey was conducted between September 2025 and August 2026, with travelers from more than 100 nationalities evaluating over 300 airlines worldwide.
Skytrax classifies regional airlines as full-service carriers that primarily operate domestic and international flights of up to six hours, while some may also serve a limited number of longer routes.
In a statement, US-Bangla Airlines said it plans to further expand its fleet, increase international destinations and flight frequencies, and introduce more technology-driven passenger services as part of its long-term growth strategy.
