DHAKA, 18 August 2026: Dhaka Bank PLC has further expanded its nationwide banking network with the inauguration of its 39th sub-branch, the Bar Council Sub-Branch, at the premises of the Bangladesh Bar Council in Dhaka. The newly established sub-branch will operate under the bank’s Local Office and is designed to bring essential banking services closer to members of the legal profession, Bangladesh Bar Council officials, employees and other customers.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 18 August 2026 in the presence of senior government officials, leaders of the legal profession, Dhaka Bank’s senior management, members of the Bangladesh Bar Council, lawyers and other distinguished guests.
Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The programme was chaired by Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus (Kazal), Attorney General for Bangladesh and Chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Council.
Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC, was also present at the ceremony, while Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC, formally inaugurated the new sub-branch.
The inauguration represents another significant step in Dhaka Bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its physical banking footprint while ensuring that customers can access essential financial services conveniently from locations that are closely connected to their professional and daily activities.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by Senior Advocate Barrister Md. Bodruddoza Badal, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Bangladesh Bar Council; Senior Advocate Mr. Zainul Abedin, MP, Vice Chairman, Bangladesh Bar Council; AKM Shahnawaj, Additional Managing Director, Dhaka Bank PLC; and Deputy Managing Directors Akhlaqur Rahman, Mostaque Ahmed, Sheikh Abdul Bakir, AMM Moyen Uddin, S.M. Abdullah Hil Kafi, Mukarram Hossain Chowdhury and Md. Waliul Islam.
The EVP and Manager of Dhaka Bank’s Local Office, senior managers of nearby Dhaka Bank branches, other high officials of the bank, lawyers and officials of the Bangladesh Bar Council were also present at the event.
The newly inaugurated Bar Council Sub-Branch will offer a range of banking facilities to customers. These include utility bill payment, fund transfers between accounts, fund transfers to other banks and other available banking services. By providing these facilities within the Bar Council premises, Dhaka Bank aims to reduce the need for customers to travel to conventional branches for routine transactions and make banking more accessible and efficient.
The opening of the sub-branch also underscores Dhaka Bank’s broader strategy of expanding its service network in locations where there is a strong concentration of customers and institutional activity.
