Standard Islami Bank PLC has elected renowned businessman, social worker, and Sponsor Director Ferozur Rahman as its new Chairman.
A prominent figure in Bangladesh’s business and social sectors, Ferozur Rahman has long been associated with the bank as a sponsor director. His appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the Shariah-based financial institution.
Beyond banking, Rahman is widely recognized for his contributions to public service and education. He is the former District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 315 B2, Bangladesh, a PMJF Lion, and the Founder Chairman of the Ferozur Rahman Foundation.
He also served with distinction for 31 years as Chairman of Sultanpur Union Parishad (five consecutive terms) and Chairman of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Parishad.
An advocate of education, Rahman has held key leadership positions for 42 years, including Chairman of the Governing Body of New Model Bahumukhi High School in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Ferozur Rahman Residential Academy School & College in Sultanpur, Brahmanbaria.
In addition, he is one of the sponsor directors of Sonali Insurance Company Limited and remains actively involved with numerous educational and charitable organizations across Bangladesh.
